    The provocative work of Santiago Sierra addresses the topic of social inequities. With this multipart installation, Sierra employs art as direct evidence of environmental degradation, creating a visualization of the toxicity of contemporary urban life. Composed of 52 canvases sequentially exposed to urban pollution, the work references the increased presence of airborne contaminants both locally and worldwide.     The Delmar: A Senior Artist Gallery presents its Spring exhibition, "Mudflowering." Featuring the work of the Room13Delmar artist collective, "Mudflowering," is an exhibition of new work inspired by an afternoon with Colombian artist, Delcy Morelos.     Organized in conjunction with the exhibition "Santiago Sierra: 52 Canvases Exposed to Mexico City’s Air," Timothy Morton, Rita Shea Guffey Chair in English at Rice University and director of the Cool America Foundation, will give a talk to celebrate the publication of their book "Hell: In Search of a Christian Ecology" (Columbia University Press, 2024), which explores the relationship between religion and ecology in response to the climate crisis.     Join us in Spring Church for an outdoor screening of "Amor, mujeres y flores," a 1989 documentary by Colombian filmmakers Marta Rodriguez and Jorge Silva. Described by Rodriguez as a “drama about pesticides and the aberrant working conditions of female labor,” this documentary exposes the exploitation of the primarily female workforce in Colombia’s flower cultivation industry. It highlights the relationship between the demand for Colombia’s carnations in the international market and labor and human rights violations in the industry.
